All-New “Shwe Mic Khae” Singing Competition Organised in Collaboration between MPT and “Tay Than Thar” Music App

(Yangon, 17th February 2020) – MPT, Myanmar’s first and leading telecommunications operator, and East Boy Co., Ltd, have once again teamed up to launch a unique, public singing competition aiming to discover new singers and help them launch a career as professional artist. Officially called the “Shwe Mic Khae” Singing Competition, is powered by MPT and “Tay Than Thar” Music App.

Starting from 22nd February, Myanmar music enthusiasts will have a chance to enter the competition online and submit their auditions for review by a panel of judges, Myint Moe Aung, Leonard Maung Maung Lwin, Wai Kyee, Rebecca Win and Jewel, famous song writers and Myanmar vocalists for “Shwe Mic Khae”.

The competition will be held in three stages with first round being exclusively online, and semi-final and grand finale being offline events with online streaming. The winners will win total cash prize of MMK 10,000,000 along with a chance to sing exclusive songs with Tay Than Thar music label.

To participate in the first round of “Shwe Mic Khae” Singing Competition, contestants have to perform a song freely chosen from a pre-selected list of 40 hit songs, upload that video clip with Hashtag (#shwemickhae #taythantharMPT) on public at own Facebook account. Participants should also share the link and detail information about name of contestant, phone number (only MPT MSISDN) to Shwe Mic Khae Facebook messenger (m.me/shwemickhae) to be eligible for singing contest.

Top 10 contestants from the first round will be selected based on judges scoring and FB likes to compete for the Semi Final. Top four contestants from semi-final will compete in Grand Final stage where the Winner & First Runner up will be selected.

First thirty contestants to submit their audition for first round will receive MMK 10,000 MPT top-up vouchers. All constants of first round will also get a chance to participate in a lucky draw to win exciting prizes worth MMK 1,000,000.
