(Yangon, 14th February 2020) – MPT Money has announced a nationwide CSR campaign to clean up Myanmar and reduce litter impact on the environment. The campaign starts on 15th February in Nay Pyi Daw and Mawlamyine in Mon state. In total, local events will take place in 18 States and Regions Locations in Myanmar, such as surroundings of Lashio General Hospital in Shan State, Shwemawdaw Pagoda in Bago, and Point Beach in Sittwe to support local environmental action to make a practical difference to their communities.
More than 7,000 volunteers are expected to join nationwide clean-up campaign initiative by MPT Money this year. The campaign aims to raise awareness on the importance of clean and green neighborhoods amongst local residents. This February, teams formed by volunteers, local MPT Money agents, and MPT employees will carry out a number of tasks to give the selected areas a deep clean.
“Litter is an important national issue and presents a serious threat to health, wildlife, and the environment. With our nationwide cleaning initiative, we want local communities to take pride in their own surroundings and public spaces. I believe that together we will be able to reduce litter lever in our neighborhoods and encourage people to keep the country clean,” said U Khin Maung Myint, Managing Director of MPT Money Co., Ltd.

The campaign has been developed hand in hand with local communities and aims to allow as many people as possible to take part in and beautify popular landmarks, sacred pagodas, and public spaces across the country.
